The grain breeds worms and borers; they turn and prey upon themselves. They leave us with nothing gained.

注释
雷在天上，然禾生蟲蠹——莊稼自生蛀蟲。還自剋賊——蟲蠹反噬其主，自我毀滅。使我無得——顆粒無收。從大壯至既濟，水在火上：一切就位，思患預防。然此詩之反諷在於：既濟之完成形式齊備而內容空虛——蟲已蛀盡，外殼猶存而穀粒盡失。壯力若滋生自身之寄生蟲，則達成空洞之完成——成功之形而無成功之實。
