上火下澤,睽之異體殊俗。各有所屬而互不相容——西鄰孤嫗,無依無靠,欲寄居於他家之室。然主母怒罵驅逐,終不可得。此詩寫排斥之殘忍:風俗之異化為冰冷之牆,連鄰里之間最基本之庇護亦遭拒絕。從睽至謙(地中有山),君子以裒多益寡稱物平施:山藏地中,高者自降以補不足。然此詩中無人肯降身相助,乖離之勢未得化解,孤弱者仍流落無所。謙之道在於此——唯自降而後能容。
