上火下澤，睽之倒錯推至極端。山沒於洪流之下，丘陵反而漂浮水上，陸地化為魚塘水澤，燕雀無棲身之廬舍——天地秩序徹底顛覆，萬物盡失其位。此非人事之乖離，乃天地自身之根本錯亂，水陸互易而高下倒懸。從睽至訟（天與水違行），分裂深化為根本之爭：天水背馳，上下相違。君子以作事謀始——地基盡毀之際，已無舊規可循，唯有重新謀劃，自根本處另立方向。
