山上有水，蹇之象。此為改寫詩，須據原詩：「跛踦相隨，日暮牛罷。陵遲後旅，失利亡雌。」跛者相攜而行，日落時牛已力竭。落後於商旅之末，利潤盡失、伴侶亦亡。殘弱之人在暮色中越行越慢，希望一點點消逝。從蹇至坎，水洊至，重險也。山上之水化為水上之水，危險加倍。此變非解困而是加深：跛者未遇平路，而遇另一深淵。此為易林最嚴厲之警示：有些阻礙通向的不是解脫而是更深之險，唯一之智在於及時辨識而止步。
