山下出泉，蒙之象也。愆淫旱疾——雨澇旱災與疫病交替。傷害稼穡——莊稼受損。喪制病來，農人無食——喪事與疾病同至，農民斷糧。此為農業災難之全景：天時失序、疫病流行、人禍疊加。從蒙至革，澤中有火：革者，治曆明時，根本變革之象。蒙昧者面對崩壞之天時，單純忍耐已不足。火在澤中，水火相激——唯有徹底更革時序、重建秩序，方能恢復生長之循環。革非輕言可發，然時勢至此，不革則亡。
