三犬俱走，鬭於谷口。白鷰不勝，死於坂下。
Three dogs run together, fighting at the gorge mouth. The white falcon cannot prevail; it dies at the foot of the slope.

注释
地中生木，升之象。三犬俱走，鬥於谷口——三犬競逐，於谷口狹處廝殺搏鬥。白鷰不勝，死於坂下——白燕柔弱，不敵犬之兇猛，死於山坡之下。狹路相逢，唯強者存——三犬爭於隘口，空間狹窄，退無可退。白燕輕巧而脆弱，以柔弱之身對兇猛之獸，必敗無疑。明出地上為晉（君子以自昭明德），光明自地面升起之象。從升至晉，上升本應步入光明，然此處光明所照見的卻是殺戮之場——非所有上升者皆能安然抵達，柔弱者在強者橫行之處殞命。升之道亦有殘酷一面。
