窮夫失居，惟守弊廬。初憂中懼，終日兢競，无悔无虞。
The destitute man, driven from his home, clings only to his broken hut. First comes worry, then dread within; all day long he trembles in vigilance, yet finds neither regret nor blame.

注释
地中生木，升之象。窮夫失居，惟守弊廬——窮人失去居所，唯餘一間破舊茅屋勉強棲身。初憂中懼，終日兢競——起初憂慮，繼而恐懼加深，終日戰戰兢兢、如臨深淵。然結局出人意料：無悔無虞——終究無可後悔之事，亦無禍患降臨。水在火上為既濟（君子以思患而豫防之），萬事已成而須預防未然之患。從升至既濟，上升之旅以謹慎守成告終——窮夫之存非因安逸而因不懈之警惕。其升至微，僅為堅守破屋，然持續之戒慎使他安然度過。不求大升，但求不墜，亦為升之一法。
