雲上於天，需本以養。兵征大宛，北出玉門——漢武帝遣李廣利伐大宛取汗血寶馬，遠征數萬里。與胡寇戰，平城道西，七日絕糧——又合漢高祖白登之圍，被匈奴圍困七日斷糧，幾乎不全。兩次漢代軍事災難壓縮為一象：遠征過度，補給斷絕，身幾不保。從需至履（上天下澤），等待之養被棄而踏入虎尾之險：離開天之庇蔭，步步皆為生死之間。
