負牛上山，力劣行難。烈風雨雪，遮遏我前。中道復還。
Bearing an ox up the mountain, strength failing, the way hard. Fierce wind, rain, and snow block the path ahead. Midway, one turns back.

雷電皆至為豐，負牛上山，力劣行難。烈風雨雪，遮遏我前。中道復還。負牛而非牽牛——以人力背負全牛上山，力不從心。風雪驟至，前路遮斷，只能半途而返。從豐至既濟，水在火上之象：既濟以思患而豫防之為道。此人之敗不在折返——折返乃明智——而在出發時未量力。既濟為萬事已成之卦，然其危在自滿。負牛上山若能事先思患，便知此行不可為，何至中道狼狽而回。
