鷦鷯竊脂，巢於小枝。搖動不安，為風所吹，心寒飄搖，常憂危殆。
The wren steals fat and nests upon a slender twig. Shaken and uneasy, blown by the wind; the heart chills, tossed about, ever fearing peril.

注释
山上有火，鷦鷯（小鳥）竊脂築巢於細枝之上。搖動不安，為風所吹——小枝不堪其重，寒風不止。心寒飄搖，常憂危殆——終日惶恐，時刻擔心跌落。此為旅人最脆弱之處境：全部存身之所繫於根本不足之物。從旅至晉（明出地上），光明自地面升起，前進之象。然鷦鷯不能前行，只能攀附顫動之枝。晉之進取須以穩固為基，光明方能上升。築巢於細枝者或可見曉光，但無法站立迎之。
