地上有水，比也，行者上路。長股喜走，趍步千里——長腿善行，疾走千里。王良嘉言——傳說中至善之御者王良獻良策。伯來在道——伯樂行於途中，善相馬者至矣。申見王母——最終拜見西王母。詩疊用三位超凡人物：王良之御術、伯樂之識鑑、西王母之長生。從比至蹇（山上有水），水阻於山，道路險峻。然詩之信心暗示：得良伴——明眼之嚮導、穩健之御者——則蹇之陡阻亦成朝聖之途。
