衛侯東遊，惑於少姬。亡我考妣，久迷不來。此暗合《詩經·邶風·新台》對衛宣公之諷刺：築新台以截奪兒媳，成為最高層道德敗壞之代名詞。乾至升，地中生木，升之象也。君子以順德，積小以高大。然此詩示升之歪斜：本應循序上升之路被迷惑所扭曲。衛侯東行非漸進之德，乃沉溺之途——每一步離本分愈遠，陷迷惑愈深。升卦戒積小以成大，此處所積者非德而是過，向上之路淪為橫逸之迷。
