澤上有地，臨之明察。欽敬昊天——恭敬地仰望蒼天；曆象星辰——推算星辰運行以制定曆法。宣授民時——向百姓頒布時令節氣；陰陽和調——陰陽因此調和順暢。此為聖王之首務：觀測天象，化為人間秩序。此呼應《尚書·堯典》中堯帝命羲和「欽若昊天，曆象日月星辰」之職。從臨至噬嗑（電雷），長者之養育化為精確之裁斷。雷電照破混沌：曆法如噬嗑之齒，咬斷迷惑，分辨正時與非時，使人事與天道相合。
