雲雷屯，化為山下有火之賁。路多枳棘，步刺我足，不利旅客，為心作毒——道路荊棘叢生，每步刺足，行旅不利，苦毒入心。肉體之痛逐步累積，行路本身即為折磨。從屯至賁，反諷鮮明：賁以火照山，彰顯文飾之美，然此詩揭示華美之表無法掩蓋傷人之實。遠觀山色秀麗，近行則棘刺穿足。初難披上裝飾之衣，仍是初難。文飾不能代替實質之通達。
