焦氏易林
老馬垂耳，不見百里，君子弗恃，商人莫取，無與為市。
The old horse droops its ears; it cannot see a hundred li. The noble man does not rely on it; the merchant will not take it — none will trade for it.

注释
天下有山，遯之象。老馬垂耳，不見百里——老馬耷拉著耳朵，跑不到百里。君子弗恃——君子不會依靠它。商人莫取，無與為市——商人不會收購，無人願意交易。衰老之馬，一無可用。從遯至賁（山下有火），退避之山本應化為文飾之美。賁者以文飾明庶政，然此詩中退避之物已衰朽至極，無可修飾。賁須有質方能施文——老馬之質已盡，再多裝點亦枉然。退避過久者如老馬垂耳，不僅失去行動之力，連被重新包裝的價值也不復存在。
