九五 嘉遯貞吉。
Nine in the fifth place means: Friendly retreat. Perseverance brings good fortune.

卦象变化
焦氏易林
陳力就列，官職並廢，手不勝盆，失其寵門。
Displaying one's ability, taking one's rank; yet office and post are both abolished. The hand cannot hold the basin; he loses his favored position.

注释
天下有山，遯之象。陳力就列——陳其才力就位。官職並廢——官職一並廢除。手不勝盆——手提不動盆器。失其寵門——失去了恩寵之門。「陳力就列」出《論語·季氏》：不能則止。然此處並非自願退出，而是被迫失勢。從遯至大壯（雷在天上），退避之山本應化為天上之雷——壯大無匹。然詩寫壯而反衰：爭相顯能者反見官職盡廢，連舉盆之力亦無。大壯之非禮弗履，此處恰是過度陳力、不知退避而終致覆滅之象。退而不退，強而反弱。
