明出地上,晉之象。然此詩寫進而受阻:前涉溽暑而不得解,離水三里而不能至。商途敗壞,利市盡失。老牛病馬,棄之又何悔?層層疲憊之象,喻人於錯誤時機強行前進。從晉至需(雲上於天),雲已蓄而雨未降——需者,等待也。真正的進取不在於冒暑強行,而在於知止知退。老牛病馬當捨則捨,勉強前行只會加重損失。需卦以飲食宴樂為教,此時安歇方是正道。
