風自火出，家人之婚姻紐帶閃耀。原詩云：「東鄰嫁女，為王妃后。莊公築館，以尊王母。歸于京師，季姜悅喜。」此寫最高層級之聯姻——鄰國之女嫁為王后，莊公築館以尊其母。歸京之日，季姜歡喜。婚姻為政治結盟，家族之榮耀經由禮制而成就。從家人至遯，天下有山，遠小人而不惡而嚴。新婦入宮恰合遯之精神：離開娘家，此退讓之舉非為消減，反令家族之聲望因此而升。優雅之退讓，正是提升之道。
