山上有水，蹇之象。嬴氏違良——嬴氏為秦國姓，此處嬴氏之君不聽良言。使孟尋兵——遣將出征求戰。師老不已——大軍久戰疲憊。敗於齊卿——終敗於齊國之臣。此或指秦國東侵齊地而遭敗績之事。從蹇至離，明兩作，繼明照四方。離之道在附麗於明正之事。嬴氏之失恰在不附良謀而附武斷——「違良」即離之反面。火照功亦照過，此處照出的是棄善從暴之覆亡。
