Nine in the fourth place means: The wanderer rests in a shelter. He obtains his property and an ax. My heart is not glad.

上九 鳥焚其巢。旅人先笑後號咷。喪牛于易。凶。
Nine at the top means: The bird's nest burns up. The wanderer laughs at first, Then must needs lament and weep. Through carelessness he loses his cow. Misfortune.

人无定法，綬降牛出，虵雄走趨。陽不制陰，宜其家國。
Men lack fixed principles; the seal descends, the ox escapes, the male serpent runs forth. When yang cannot restrain yin, such becomes the state of home and country.

注释
山上有火，旅者無定法則，綱紀盡廢。綬帶脫落而官印墜地，牛馬逸出而無人牧之，蛇蟲僭越而居主位。「陽不制陰」直引《尚書·牧誓》「牝雞司晨」之典——陰陽倒置，家國將傾。末句「宜其家國」實為反語，諷刺之意甚明。從旅至坤（地勢坤），旅人失其章法，遇純陰之地而無乾陽統率。坤之德在厚載順承，然陽不領則陰無所從，順承化為空洞，國政遂淪為散沙無形之局。
