六三 未濟征凶。利涉大川。
Six in the third place means: Before completion, attack brings misfortune. It furthers one to cross the great water.
第四爻
九四 貞吉悔亡。震用伐鬼方。三年有賞于大國。
Nine in the fourth place means: Perseverance brings good fortune. Remorse disappears. Shock, thus to discipline the Devil's Country. For three years, great realms are awarded.
第上爻
上九 有孚于飲酒。无咎。濡其首。有孚失是。
Nine at the top means: There is drinking of wine In genuine confidence. No blame. But if one wets his head, He loses it, in truth.

名成德就，項領不試。景公耄老，尼父逝去。
White-haired, he sharpens the sword — but the sword is already dull. Grand ambitions unfulfilled, temples frosted first. Ten thousand scrolls written, no one asks — sitting alone in a desolate study, facing the sunset.

注释
火在水上，光將入地。原詩「名成德就，項領不試」——成就具備而未得施展。「景公耄老」——齊景公年邁而改革未竟。「尼父逝去」——孔子（尼父）辭世，大道未行。名可成、德可就，然終未獲一試之機。從未濟至明夷（明入地中），火水未交化為火沉地下。此為全批最具結構共鳴之配對：未濟之錯位之火遇明夷之掩埋之光。聖人歿而不遇，國君老而不為。光明存在卻被時勢所吞——此即明夷之定義：用晦而明，然晦已勝明。
