The magpie draws near then shrinks back, unable to see head or eyes. Day by day more pressed and desperate; unable to recover on its own.

注释
風行天上，化為地上有水之比。然鵲近而退縮，不見頭目——本應報喜之鳥反而畏懼不前。日益困急，自復無望，孤立漸深。從小畜至比，本當親附團結，詩卻反寫其失。比卦之象為先王建萬國、親諸侯，貴在及時決斷，一旦錯過即不可追。此處猶豫退縮已喪失一切結盟機緣。當來而不來，當親而不親，孤立遂深化為無可挽回之癱瘓。喜鵲之退即為信任之崩，連結之窗既閉則不復開。
