上天下澤,然前路荊棘密布。原詩云「路多枳棘,步刺我足。不利旅客,為心作毒。」每一步皆被刺傷,道路敵意重重,行旅只生怨毒。從履至遯,天下有山:君子遠小人,不惡而嚴。此詩完美體現遯之邏輯——路途本身已成毒境,明智者不在於強行穿越,而在於從容退去。君子之退非畏懼荊棘,乃因此路已不通往值得前往之處。知止而退,是亦履道之一端也。
