Hoping for favor, it does not arrive; the composition remains unfinished. The prince chases a hare; the lame hound cannot catch it.

注释
地中有山，望幸不到——期盼聖駕蒞臨而不至。文章未就——文章尚未完成。王子逐兔——王子追逐野兔。犬踦不得——獵犬失足而不能獲。每一追求皆差一步：覲見無緣，文思中斷，獵物逃脫。從謙至既濟（水在火上），水火相交，一切就位卻極為脆弱。此詩捕捉將成未成之挫折：萬事俱備而契合未至。既濟之訓在「思患而豫防之」——正因其平衡如此易碎。謙之耐心等待非得圓滿而得永恆之「差一點」——兔永遠在犬一步之外。
