注释
水在火上，既濟之序。然蠻戎夷狄——四方蠻族逼近。太陰所積——至陰之氣聚集。涸冰沍寒——冰封霜凍，嚴寒徹骨。君子不存——賢德之人無法存活於此。完成之秩序凝結為無生之寒，文明退場。從既濟至謙（地中有山），既濟化為山隱地中之象。然此處之謙非自願之退讓，乃被迫之撤退。君子避地而去，非失其德，乃知寒境不可久處。既濟之平衡若凝固不化，即成死寂。
