Late autumn, early winter; cold dew, frost descending. Great yin fills the courtyard; living things cease to grow. Roosters and dogs cry in the night; the household is startled again and again.

山下有風，蠱入殺氣。季秋孟冬——九月十月之交；寒露霜降——寒露與霜降節氣。大陰在庭——重陰之氣充塞庭院；品物不生——萬物停止生長。雞犬夜鳴——雞犬在夜間嘈鳴；家擾數驚——家宅屢受驚擾。此為霜降行刑之季——古制秋冬方可行刑殺伐。夜間禽畜驚鳴，預示危機將至。從蠱至夬（澤上於天），積累之腐敗須斷然清除。澤溢於天為裁斷之極：暗中腐爛者終被揭露肅清，過程雖劇烈驚人，卻是必經之途。
