注释
山附於地為剝，山下有澤為損。牧羊稻園，聞虎喧嚾——在稻田中牧羊，忽聞虎嘯。懼畏悚息——驚恐畏懼，屏氣凝神。終無禍患——最終並無災禍。虎吼震人而未實際襲擊。牧人之恐懼本身即為「損」——安寧之心被削減，然身與羊群安然無恙。從剝至損，山之剝蝕使下方之澤被汲取而上。牧人所歷即虛驚——威脅真實而損失僅在心理。「懲忿窒欲」之教在此：恐懼而不妄動，減損躁急之心反保全實質之安。
