第五爻
九五 无妄之疾。勿藥有喜。
Nine in the fifth place means: Use no medicine in an illness Incurred through no fault of your own. It will pass of itself.

上九 无妄。行有眚。无攸利。
Nine at the top means: Innocent action brings misfortune. Nothing furthers.

千雀萬鳩，與鷂為仇。威挈不敵，雖眾無益。為鷹所擊。
A thousand sparrows, ten thousand doves; they feud with the sparrowhawk. Power and might cannot match it; though numerous, it is no use. Struck down by the hawk.

注释
千雀萬鳩，與鷂為仇——小鳥千萬與鷂鷹為敵。威挈不敵，雖眾無益——合力不敵猛禽，數量再多亦無用。為鷹所擊——終被鷹隼擊殺。從無妄至明夷（明入地中），變化刻劃眾弱為寡強所壓倒之勢。明夷火入地中，光明被壓抑或主動隱藏。小鳥之數量優勢在猛禽集中之力量前毫無意義。詩意教示：暗世之中，集體之弱不能以數量勝掠食之強。存活需韜光養晦之智，非聚眾而無力之徒然抵抗。
