Wild ducks and geese call softly, making the water their home. Male and female in harmony; their hearts' delight is contentment. They obtain what they desire; all affliction is cut away.

注释
天在山中，大畜蓄積之象。鳧雁啞啞——鳧與雁歡鳴。以水為宅——以水為家。雌雄相和——雌雄和鳴。心志娛樂——心中愉悅。得其所欲，絕其患惡——得所求而無憂患。此詩寫水禽安居樂業之景：各得其所、雌雄相和、怡然自得。從大畜至鼎（木上有火），蓄積之材化為鼎中之烹。鼎者，正位凝命——以正位承天命。鳧雁安於水如鼎中食材各適其位，蓄積之力經鼎火提煉而化為文明之養。各安其宜，正是蓄而後化之理想。
