澤滅木，大過之象。秉鉞執殳，挑戰先驅——手持斧鉞長殳，爭先挑戰為前驅。不從元帥，敗破為憂——不聽統帥號令，終致兵敗生憂。此為軍事之鑒：個人之勇不從指揮則反為禍端。兵器雖利而號令不一，勇則勇矣，終歸覆敗。從大過至訟（天與水違行），過重之力化為方向相反之衝突。天上行水下流，互不相從。不從元帥之勇士正是此象之化身：力量過剩而脫離節制，各行其是，爭訟紛起，敗局已定。
