九四 貞吉悔亡。憧憧往來。朋從爾思。
Nine in the fourth place means: Perseverance brings good fortune. Remorse disappears. If a man is agitated in mind, And his thoughts go hither and thither, Only those friends On whom he fixes his conscious thoughts Will follow.

大尾小頭，重不可搖。上弱下強，陰制其雄。
Great tail, small head; heavy and immovable. The upper is weak, the lower strong; yin controls the male.

注释
山上有澤，感通之象。大尾小頭，重不可搖——首小而尾大，重心倒置。上弱下強，陰制其雄——上位者柔弱，下位者專橫，陰反制陽。此即《左傳》「尾大不掉」之意：末大必折，臣強君弱。從咸至坎（水洊至），感應化為重險之象。坎為水上加水，險中有險。頭輕尾重正是坎之危局——無堅實之首以導方向，重心在下而不受控，每進一步皆陷更深。感應之道本在上下相通，至此上下顛倒，通路反成險途。
