山上有澤，感應萬象。桀跖並處——夏桀與盜跖同在，暴君與巨盜聯手。民之愁苦——百姓受難。擁兵荷糧，戰於齊魯——兵戈相向於齊魯之間。然後驟轉：合巹同牢——共飲合巹酒、同食太牢禮。姬姜並居——周室姬姓與齊室姜姓聯姻和居。暴亂與婚合並置，戰爭與禮儀交替。從咸至萃（澤上於地），感應化為聚合之象。萃以除戎器戒不虞——聚合之時須備非常。此詩揭示為何——桀跖之暴永遠與姬姜之和僅一步之遙。
