Three men travel together, heading north to seek fine rams. The eldest, Meng, has a lame foot; he asks Li to carry the bags. With the constancy of Liuxia, we do not lose our provisions.

注释
澤中有火，革之象也。三人俱行，北求大羝。長孟病足，倩李負囊。柳下之貞，不失我糧。雷風恆，立不易方之象也。三人結伴北行求羊，長者孟足傷不能行，遂請同伴李代負行囊。以柳下惠之貞操自喻——柳下惠以「坐懷不亂」聞名，孟子稱之為「聖之和者」。此處取其堅守不移之德：無論途中何等艱辛，絕不丟棄糧食。從革至恆，變革之後長途跋涉須恆心以持——互助支撐，堅守所有，方能抵達目的地。
