The celestial horse runs five courses; the blazing fire lingers long. Going and coming, ascending and descending; this is no civil pursuit of the scholar's hook. Clad in mourning silk and hemp, following one another in lamentation; how dire the calamity.

澤中有火，革之象也。天馬五道，炎火久處。往來上下，非文釣已。衣衰絲麻，相隨在歌，凶惡如何。山上有木，漸之象也。此詩語義隱晦難解。天馬行五道或指天象運行，炎火久處暗示長期之焦灼。往來上下不止，非尋常之釣。衣衰絲麻為喪服，隨歌而行或為送葬之禮。從革至漸，漸進之道與此詩紛亂之意象形成張力——有些變革過於複雜，非一次解讀所能窮盡。此為難解之詩，謹慎存疑。
