兼山為艮，旦奭為周之柱石——周公旦與召公奭輔佐成王，周德孔明。越裳獻雉，萬國咸康。據傳周公攝政期間，天下大治，越裳氏自南海之外重譯來貢白雉，稱「中國有聖人」。從艮至咸（山上有澤），山遇山上之澤。咸為感應之道——山之堅穩配澤之柔潤，產生無形之感召力，遠方之民不待征伐而自來歸。德化之靜勝於武力之動。
