兼山為艮，比目魚與四翼鳥安我邦國。上下無患，為吾喜福。比目魚單目須成對而游，比翼鳥單翼須相依而飛——完美互補、不可分離之象。從艮至漸（山上有木），山化為木長山上之象。漸為循序漸進，一步一步穩健上升。詩中之成對生物正合漸之道：非孤才獨秀，而是合作共長，彼此互補如木攀山而上。
