上六 大君有命。開國承家。小人勿用。
Six at the top means: The great prince issues commands, Founds states, vests families with fiefs. Inferior people should not be employed.

地中有水，師之象。鴉鳴庭中，以戒災凶——烏鴉啼鳴於庭，警示災禍將至。重門擊柝，備不速客——重疊門戶、擊柝巡夜，以防不速之客。「重門擊柝」語出《易經·繫辭》，為預防之典。從師至頤（山下有雷），靜山覆雷，養生之道。軍旅之戒備轉化為頤養之紀律——慎言語、節飲食，守護入口出口之物。警戒化為修身。
