注释
天與火同人，德如美玉之鳥自幽暗中飛升。孔德如玉，出於幽谷——品德溫潤如玉，起自深谷；飛上喬木，鼓其羽翼——展翅高飛，大光照國。此取《詩經》「出自幽谷，遷于喬木」之意，喻賢才自卑微而顯達。從同人至坎（水洊至），似與詩意相逆。坎為重險，君子以常德行——然鳥之高飛並非被否定，而是被賦予深度：穿越深淵之光輝，與僅知光明之光輝，承載不同之分量。
