At the zenith of the bright yang; the clan of Jia perishes. Disaster reaches Liu and Yu; they are buried and reduced to ruins.

注释
天與火同人，然盛陽之極反毀其外圍。正陽之央——陽氣至盛之時；甲氏以亡——甲氏族滅。禍及留吁，湮滅為墟——災禍波及留吁，化為廢墟。前五九三年，晉國滅赤狄諸部——甲氏、留吁、鐸辰——將這些邊疆部族從版圖上抹去。從同人至萃（澤上於地），揭示令人不安之邏輯。萃卦君子以除戎器，戒不虞——此處所「聚」者非和平之會合，而是強國之集中武力，所聚之對象則為整個族群。同人若化為征服之工具，即成殲滅。
