第三爻
九三 公用亨于天子。小人弗克 。
Nine in the third place means: A prince offers it to the Son of Heaven. A petty man cannot do this.

六五 厥孚交如。威如。吉。
Six in the fifth place means: He whose truth is accessible, yet dignified, Has good fortune.
第上爻
上九 自天祐之。吉无不利。
Nine at the top means: He is blessed by heaven. Good fortune. Nothing that does not further.

A sparrow ventures out seeking food and meets a sparrowhawk at the gate. Tumbling up and down; it almost has nowhere to go.

雀行求食，出門見鷂——小雀出覓食，門口遇鷂鷹。顛蹶上下，幾無所處——驚慌失措，幾無棲身之地。小生命在最暴露之刻——出門求食之際——遭遇天敵。從大有至萃（澤上於地），天火化為澤聚於地——會聚之象，亦有除戎器、戒不虞之訓。雀之遭遇正是萃所警示者：無備之聚最為脆弱。大有之豐若聚而無防，覓食者甫出即遭獵殺。萃之道不僅在聚，更在備——未雨綢繆方能安然赴會。
