東家中女，嫫母最醜——嫫母為黃帝之妃，古來醜女之代名詞。三十無室，媒伯勞苦，竭力撮合而不成。從無妄至豫（雷出地奮），變化充滿反諷。豫卦雷震地奮，先王作樂崇德，本應歡慶。然此處預期之喜落空：新婦無法安置，媒人徒勞。詩意反轉無妄之許諾——真誠自能感召知音——暗示即便天真無邪，亦難敵世人以貌取人之淺薄。
