Trading summer goods in Cai brings grief; a thousand li to reach the market. Yellow leaves wilt and wither; profit obtained is nothing at all.

注释

澤滅木,大過之象。夏販蔡悲——夏日販運蔡地之貨而悲。千里為市——行千里之遠以求貿易。黃葉殪鬱——黃葉枯萎凋零。利得無有——毫無利潤可得。此詩寫長途商旅之失敗:千里販運而一無所獲,枯葉如其貨物或精力之凋萎。蔡或為地名,然「悲」字為商旅染上哀色。從大過至旅(山上有火),家室傾覆迫人踏上旅途。旅之火燃於山頂而無所溫暖——商人千里跋涉終歸兩手空空,黃葉滿地。大過之失所化為旅人之漂泊,而漂泊者所得唯有枯索。
