明兩作離，火明入雲上於天之需。高木腐巢，漏濕難居——舊居已朽敗不堪，雨漏風侵，無法棲止。然不去甘棠，使我無憂。「甘棠」出《詩經·召南·甘棠》，頌召伯甘棠樹下聽訟施政之德：民愛其人，不忍伐其樹，連樹蔭亦珍惜守護。詩以腐巢與甘棠對比：朽者可棄，然仁政之蔭庇不可輕離。從離至需，雲上於天，以飲食宴樂養性待時：火之急切化為雲之耐心等待，不急於另覓棲所，守仁者之蔭，靜候天時，自然無憂。
