九五 嘉遯貞吉。

龍鬭時門，失理傷賢，內畔生賊，自為心疾。
Dragons battle at the seasonal gate; reason is lost, the worthy are harmed. Rebellion breeds traitors from within; it becomes a sickness of the heart.

注释
天下有山，遯之象。龍鬭時門——龍爭鬭於城門之際。失理傷賢——失去道理而傷害賢人。內畔生賊——內部叛亂滋生賊禍。自為心疾——自身化為心腹之患。龍戰之象出《易經》坤卦上六「龍戰於野」——陰陽激烈衝突之象。從遯至明夷（明入地中），退避之光明被埋入地下。明夷者，用晦而明——以晦暗保全光明。然此詩中禍出於內，非外敵之侵而是心腹之疾。退避無法治療內在之病——退得再遠，病在自身，退避只是將感染封鎖於體內。
