明入地中，光明未顯。雲上於天，需之象：滋養將至而未至。「童女無室，未有配合，空坐獨宿。」少女獨處，無人匹配，此乃才德未遇之寫照。明夷之火被壓於地下，如同未嫁之女空守寂寞。從明夷至需，變化之意在於：隱而待時。需者，須也，雲上於天而雨未降。獨宿非被棄，乃時機未到之候。飲食宴樂之日終將來臨，但此刻唯有安靜等候。
