注释
木上有水，井靜而不移，固守本位乃其天性。牧羊於稻園，忽聞虎聲喧喧——猛虎近在咫尺。然牧人畏懼而休息不動，不奔不逃，以靜制動，終無禍焉。井之本質即守其位：城可遷而井不可遷，一動則失其養人之功。牧人之本能恰合此理——亂動者反招虎噬，靜伏者虎過而不覺。從井至否（天地不交），天地閉塞不通反成護佑：否之封閉在此非困而是盾，虎不能透穿刻意之靜默。當退守不爭反為屏障時，否之閉塞即為生機所在。
