澤上有雷為歸妹，天下有山為遯。詩分兩層：先寫憂人之患，履蹇易顏，為身禍殘——過度介入他人之難反害自身。轉而率身自守，與喜相抱，長子成老，封受福祉——退守自保方得長久。從歸妹至遯，天下有山，君子遠小人而不惡。遯之義非逃避而是明辨進退。過度牽涉他人紛爭致面目全非、身體傷殘，唯退守自持方能保全。遯是知止之智，知何時當退、何時當守。
