欽明之德，坐前玉食。必保嘉美，長受安福。
Reverent and brilliant in virtue, seated before jade delicacies. Surely preserving what is fine and beautiful, long receiving peaceful blessings.

天與水違行，訟。然有欽明之德者坐前玉食，安然享受天賜之美。「欽明」出《尚書·堯典》稱堯帝之語：「欽明文思安安。」恭敬而明哲，文雅而深思。此德保嘉美於長久，使民長受安福。從訟至觀，風行地上，先王以省方觀民設教。詩寫觀卦之理想：以德行教化天下而非以力量壓服。當君主自身輝映德光，百姓觀而效之——紛爭之解決不靠裁判，而靠典範之道德引力。德之所在，人心自歸。
