九三 係遯。有疾厲。畜臣妾吉。

Nine in the fourth place means: Voluntary retreat brings good fortune to the superior man And downfall to the inferior man.

鎡基逢時，稷契皋陶，貞良願得，微子解囚，市空無虎，謾誕妄語。
The hoe meets its season; Ji, Qi, and Gao Yao — upright and virtuous, worthy of trust. Weizi is freed from prison; the market is empty, no tiger. Lies and wild falsehoods, reckless words.

注释
天下有山，遯之象。鎡基逢時——耒耜遇好時節。稷契皋陶——后稷、契、皋陶。貞良願得——忠良者願被識用。微子解囚——微子被解囚。市空無虎——市場無虎。謾誕妄語——全是虛誕之言。后稷、契、皋陶皆上古賢臣；微子殷末三仁之一。「市空無虎」用三人成虎之典。從遯至中孚（澤上有風），退避化為信義之風。中孚者以誠辨真偽。此詩要求分辨：賢臣當識、讒言當破。
