山上有水，蹇路之險。褰衣涉河，水深漬罷——提起衣裳渡河，水深及胸，疲憊不堪幾至溺沒。然幸賴舟子及時出現，載而渡之，濟脫無他，平安抵達彼岸。此為蹇卦核心之許：路途確實凶險而非虛驚，然勇於投身渡河者終能遇見援手。從蹇至師，地中有水，容民畜眾。舟子正合師卦之理：有備之力在關鍵時刻傾力投入。非僥倖之救，乃早有準備之人守候於此，紀律在旅人抵達之前已預見了危險。
